The WM Data & Analytics Engineer - VP will design and develop data based product solutions and rollout of dashboards and analytics instrumentation to the product teams. This lead developer will be part of all aspects of the analytics development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. This lead developer will use data analysis to understand customer profiles, produce reports to track our business, build models to provide insights into the WM customer base, identify opportunities, and impact the strategy of our Product, Marketing, and Sales teams. Ideal candidates love breaking down problems, building solutions, delivering actionable and data-driven insights, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role will bring technical expertise to the group and work in close collaboration with product leaders, stakeholders, source applications, data engineers, and subject matter experts to define and implement the delivery of data solutions to support WM Advisor & Investment Solutions Platforms.
This is a hands-on role, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, with design, development and data engineering experience. They will be comfortable working with large and complex financial data sets, and have a track record of using data to drive business results in the financial domain.
You Will
  • Understand the vision for the WM Advisor & Investment Solutions Platforms strategy and create the data & analytics function to support their needs
  • Develop and deploy analytics solutions on analytics data platform
  • Develop and maintain data analytics systems and infrastructure to support the efficient analysis of large and complex financial data sets
  • Establish the appropriate monitoring and alerting of solution events related to performance, scalability, availability, and reliability
  • Advance existing data ingestion frameworks to implement analytics and associated tools
  • Design and build data mesh features on the analytics data platform
  • Migrate legacy analytics applications to Snowflake and AWS
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities requiring the use of modern analytical and modeling techniques
  • Collaborate with the architecture teams on creating solutions to achieve aspects of the data strategy
  • Ensure all risk management, legal, control, and compliance activities are done in line with JPMC standards in advance of product launch
  • Design and execute experiments (e.g., A/B testing, multi-armed bandit)
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics, with a focus on the financial domain
  • Participate in hands-on analysis and data manipulation as needed

Skills we are seeking
  • Domain experience - experience in financial services industry, specifically Wealth Management
  • Deep experience across the full range of database, data warehouse, data lake and business intelligence tools, Python and ability for rapid prototyping in Tableau, Qlik; publishing and presenting information in an engaging way.
  • Analytical thought leader - You can frame ambiguous business questions into analytics solution components (e.g., assess data needs, source files, prepare data, create new features, evaluate quality, etc.), and execute.
  • Strong communication/presentation skills (i.e. creating content) that can be consumed at all seniority levels with both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to rapidly understand emerging technologies and business models and naturally see commercial opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience leading data integration, data management solutions in financial services
  • 8+ years of experience in agile software development environment
  • 5+ years of experience on data analysis, data profiling, data quality analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed program delivery structure
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive growth metrics and client/partner development objectives, specifically for emerging businesses versus mature financial services products
  • Must be self-directed/self-motivated with a clear sense of ownership and a solution oriented approach
  • Understanding of big data storage and processing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hbase/Cassandra, Phoenix, Spark, Pig and Hive
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies, big data solutions, data science, and data mining
  • Experience using data visualization, dashboard, and reporting tools like Tableau, Qlik
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization
  • Experience in the financial domain is preferred
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with data analysis and manipulation as needed
  • BA or BS required
