Lead Database Engineer

This position is responsible for leading the Database Engineering Team, overseeing complex projects and providing high-level technical expertise. Responsibilities include critical database management—such as creating, maintaining, and enforcing controls and standards, and monitoring database efficiency. The role also involves overseeing system analysis and design for installing divergent systems while ensuring high performance and uptime in an enterprise environment. Additionally, the position requires interaction with complex systems to maintain high security and data protection, as well as designing and preparing management reports to safeguard company data from breaches and attacks.

This role...

• Performs data modeling, relational database management, and ETL processes.

• Designs, architects, and builds databases, tables, and replicas.

• Enhances the scalability and performance of existing database architecture.

• Orchestrates and manages the day-to-day activities of the database engineers.

• Protects data by enforcing security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.

• Controls and executes schema changes and mass data changes.

• Conduct diagnostic tests and evaluate performance metrics.

• Develops procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.

• Prepares and presents system performance reports to leadership.

• Analyzes query performance and optimizes SQL code and database schema.

• Documents processes and complying with best practices in database management.

• May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

We are excited to speak with individuals with the following...

• Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology required.

• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

• Azure Database Administrator preferred.

• MySQL Database Administrator preferred.

• IBM Certified Administrator - DB2 preferred.

• Ten (10) plus years of experience in database engineering.

• Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).

• In-depth knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and data security, specifically Db2, Microsoft SQL and MySQL.

• Knowledge of best practices in database management.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary: $ 116,700.00 - 160,400.00

Bonus eligible based on individual and company performance.
