Lead Development Manager

The Lead Development Manager is responsible for managing the analysis, programming and configuration of IT Systems Software. This job advises developers on best methods of software development and code creation. Working with the leadership team, this job provides project leadership for software development activities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation and development of team.
• Develops the organization's global strategies and initiatives to enhance Information Technology plans, operations and procedures.
• Monitors development work to make sure resulting software meets established goals.
• Manages the identification of business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives for the IT System.
• Manages the configuration, customization, diagnosis and enhancements of operating systems software.
• Advises the development and implementation of new products, processes and operational plans.
• Oversees training of users on new or modified software.
• Oversees the cost/benefit evaluation of cloud solutions compared to virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, and in-house solutions.
• Reviews the technical feasibility assessment of adopting external cloud based IT platform and infrastructure services within the organization.
• Guides the identification of portions of the organization's IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Required

• 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Nuveen is growing the application development team that supports the Global CRD IMS. The Lead Development Manager CRD is a critical role in the Global Investments technology organization supporting the trading and Compliance functions in Nuveen Front Office. This highly visible role will have responsibility for building and maintaining target-state solutions for the Nuveen Equity, TFI and Compliance business, while working directly with the portfolio management traders, compliance, operations and all the supporting teams. The individual needs to be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of individual accountability and good organizational skills.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience with CRD (Charles River Development)
• Bachelor's Degree Required

Preferred Skills:

• Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to consider the business implications of the application technology to the current and future state business environment
• Ability to work with lines of business and deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Ability to build and lead a high performing team of engineers.

Base Pay Range: $118,800/yr. - $220,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
