GE Aerospace is a world's leading manufacturer and servicer of jet and turboprop engines, components providing integrated systems for commercial, military, business and general aviation. GE has a global service network and the GE Aerospace site in Veresegyház, Hungary is the only spare parts repair facility in the CEE region to support GE's overhaul factories and airlines serving over 170 global customers. The plant has undergone highly significant development since its establishment 20 years ago and become one of the leading composite repair centers in the GE network today. We are looking to hire a Lead direct buyer who will support a team of experienced materials professionals focused on maturing the materials management capabilities of our rapidly growing component repair shop at GE Aviation Hungary. Due to the ongoing development of the shop, there is the opportunity for you to become involved and support and help drive these changes. In your new role you will be responsible for ordering materials and repair services, facilitating new sourcing projects and support sourcing team members. The Lead direct buyer's key responsibility is to support daily routines, propose new ideas for best practices, keep rolling procedures, maintain sourcing KPIs and thinking about improvements.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the employees of the materials team and motivates them to do their job efficiently. Follow daily objectives, track those and maintain priorities.
  • PO management (PO publish, receiving process support, maintain purchasing related AP operation)
  • Participate in repair service ordering process.
  • Management of the first escalation line towards suppliers in case of late delivery & management of the material shortage list for production
  • Engages with partnering organizations (i.e. logistics, operations, quality) to build synergies to positively impact material availability for production, inventory and footprint optimization, vendor performance KPIs. Adopts materials management best practices and procedures within the GE Aerospace international network.
  • Proactively participate making strategic relationships with the legacy and possible supplier networks
  • Represent sourcing team in external and internal meetings.
  • Consolidates, integrates, and simplifies information's / outputs to ensure the right information is clearly communicated to the right stakeholders in the business.
  • Analyses inventory and inventory parameter settings in the ERP system to achieve the required service level and optimal inventory value at the same time. Working together with the master data administrator.
  • Keep up and monitors KPIs to ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications and generate Daily-Weekly-Monthly reports to the management.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on materials management processes and ERP (SAP) system adoption and utilization.
  • Proactively recognizes variances by theme or product to react accordingly.
  • Executes cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, processes changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance and Engineering validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 + years of experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, planning, or related role (3 or more years of experience as people leader)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • In-depth understanding of end to end purchasing & vendor management processes
  • Thorough understanding of ERP logic and MRP planning
  • English and Hungarian language skill in both written and verbal format; Strong experience in supply chain, good MS-Office skills as well as user skills in SAP

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience as SAP MM key user is a significant advantage.
  • Familiar with LEAN tools for problem solve.
