As a Lead Elastomer Engineer, you are responsible for operating the company’s analytical equipment to characterize carbon black made through Monolith’s proprietary process. You also handle the organization of resulting data and develop continuous improvement of data collection techniques.

- You have a bachelors, masters, or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of relevant experience in the tire or elastomer filler industry.
What you'll do in the role:
- Lead tire-based elastomer projects to satisfy key customer demands.
- Mentor less experienced employees to become more proficient in the tire industry.
- Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and conviction.
- Continuously improve mixing, milling, data collection, and work order organization.
- Actively participate in brainstorming and problem-solving in a team setting to identify solutions.
- Perform limited off-shift work to facilitate more rubber mixes and increase productivity from the rubber laboratory.
- Run mixes and create projects independently with little oversight.
- Lead mixing and testing shifts if necessary.
- Continue to learn detailed experiments on robotic process automation.
- Develop new tests, commission new equipment, and research and install components in the lab.
- Troubleshoot machinery as the need arises.
- Perform other duties as needed.
