Eaton's eMobility segment is currently seeking an Embedded Software Testing Engineer with automotive experience to join our dynamic, entrepreneurial team. This position is located at our Southfield, MI facility.

In this role you will
  • Responsible for developing software test plans and the best test strategy to ensure product are tested thoroughly to meet quality standard
  • Define software test cases based on software requirement, design and software architecture and maintain traceability between requirement, test case and test result in ALM tools (Jazz).
  • Ensure compliance to applicable standards (e.g ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
  • Drive continuous improvements in testing approach including automation, tools, test coverage and test case quality
  • Track software issue progress and drive to conclusion.
  • Generate software quality metrics to project team and report to upper management.
  • Manage and maintain software tools and equipment in the lab.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university. • 3 years of experience with real-time embedded software testing in automotive applications. • Relocation is not being provided for this role, candidates must be located within 50 miles of Southfield, MI Preferred Qualifications: • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university. • Experience with different tools ETAS/INCA, CANoe/CANalyzer/CANape, Oscilloscope, etc• Working experience with system level troubleshooting and bench level testing and debugging. • Working experience in testing inverter, DCDC, OBC and PDU application in bench, HIL and Dyno test environment a plus • Working experience of software development and debugging a plus • Experience with software version and issue tracking system ALM tools • Detail oriented and ability to follow through on tasks and deliver results in a timely manner • Experience with ISO26262 part 6 on software test requirement • Working knowledge of OEM or Tier1 development process • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills • Working experience in cross-functional team organization and globally distributed engineering teams a plus
