Location

• Purple Carrot HQ is in Needham, MA and prefers local candidates to work in a hybrid mode

On the Plate

• Managing and leading software engineers to deliver end-to-end website features and solutions across the application stack in an iterative manner
• Design, architect, and lead critical, full stack product initiatives leveraging knowledge/experience with OO-Design, Web Architecture, Frameworks and Libraries
• Assist Product Managers and Leadership in developing requirements, presenting options/tradeoffs, and creating work breakdown structure
• Collaborate in setting best practices for both the technical and agile project management practice
• Build collaborative relationships with cross functional delivery teams
• Improve the development pipeline by leading the adoption new tools and processes
• Mentor individual contributor engineers through technical and professional growth
• Oversee the development process to ensure high quality and timely delivery of new software features
• Lead by example with hands on code development contributing to the the full range of software projects

Main Ingredients for the Role

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• Direct engineering experience delivering full-stack, scalable, performant, and secure web and mobile applications, 7+ non-intern years
• Expertise in a variety of web technologies and architectures, including 5+ years experience with javascript, React, AWS, Rails. Familiarity with various frameworks/libraries/languages for web and mobile development (Node.js, Typescript, Vue.js, React Native, etc).
• Expertise with API development using REST/GraphQL for integrations with 3rd party solutions as well as extensible web/mobile application infrastructure
• Knowledge and hands on experience with databases, AWS services, CI/CD tooling, and secure coding/system design (Heroku a plus)
• Ability to lead tech designs, conduct code reviews, and manage development toolsets to streamline delivery
• Able to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and dynamic environment

Extra Special Sauce

• Data infrastructure experience for both operational and analytical applications
• Mobile development experience with React Native and mobile application management systems
• Experience with QA process and tooling, adoption of CI/CD
• Ecommerce B2C experience, SEO, supply chain, marketing applications
