Responsible for performing system engineering for automation process control projects based on programmable controllers, drives, motor control centers, operator/field device, instrumentation, etc. Works on project assignments that are dependent upon the Job Level (moderate to complex projects). Designs, defines and implements complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. Determines system specifications and coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. This includes system design, system engineering, hardware engineering, programming and factory testing. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.

Be a contributing part of a project team but also responsible to lead and review all assigned engineering team and their assigned tasks for a project. Assign tasks, monitor performance, review results, coordinate efforts, and track hours usage on project. Prepare and organize assigned projects and work closely with the Project Manager to maintain and lower project costs, while providing the highest level of quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Functional
    • Responsible for analyzing customer's requirements to determine the optimal process control system solution and determines applicable control configuration/architecture
    • Responsible for conceptual process control systems design, determination of process control system strategy, design of assembled programming.
    • Responsible for on-site process control system start-up as required.
    • Responsible for parts creation, purchasing and project supplies activation on our IFS system
    • Responsible for applying codes and standards for industrial control systems including NEC, NFPA 72, 85, 86, IEC61511, IEC 61508, and UL508A.
  • Leadership
    • Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring resources for projects including setting and managing time-scales and budgets.
    • Responsible for providing verbal and written reports to communicate project status as required and contributing to project review meetings.
    • Responsible for visiting internal/external panel manufacturing facilities to assess progress, providing technical assistance and for final inspection and sign off.
    • Responsible for leading an engineering program and manage multiple technical leads , ensuring common execution and practices across the program.
  • Interpersonal
    • Responsible for client liaison and interfacing with management.
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships.
    • Team player with the ability to integrate with other team project members and up to 5 Project Managers at a time.
    • Interact with the Global Engineering Center and Industry Teams and Engineering Managers.
    • Capability to be assigned to several projects at a time.
  • Business
    • Responsible for project hardware/software for compliance with applicable codes/standards and assuring personnel/machinery safety practices are fully implemented.
    • Attends, participates in the preparation and presentation of technical papers in industry symposiums and trade shows, as applicable (Desired).
    • Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other appropriate departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
    • Collaborates with the Proposals team prepare cost estimates and review technical proposals.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Solution Consultants on customer presentations, product demonstrations and commercial activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline
  • Related control systems application experience as follows;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience or more
  • Leaded and participated in large and complex projects on the O&G Industry
  • RA Products experience (Logix, Aadvance, Plant PAX, Drives, Software, Industrial components)
  • MS Office tools, AutoCAD
  • Site installation and commissioning leading experience, including mounting and electrical subcontractors supervision

Industry specific knowledge and experience

  • O&G projects expertise, including Downstream
  • Experience of control system applications throughout the project lifecycle from initial design concepts through to installation and subsequent client support

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Readiness to travel - 50% of the time estimated
  • Readiness to work overtime when required. Extra hours are paid.
  • Located in Houston or nearby area
