Join our team as a Lead Engineer, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to lead the Digital Engineering (DE) methods and processes in support of Thermo King Americas business of Trane Technologies. This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN location. Flexible work from home options available. This Lead Engineer will work closely with various product and technology development teams and with global engineering support center personnel around the globe.

Responsibilities

Lead and carry out the advancement and growth of the Thermo King Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) team. The scope encompasses technology and implementation of MBSE principles to Transport refrigeration products.

• Utilize MBSE tools to support teams in capturing stakeholder and system requirements, facilitate discussion and understanding of system architecture and usage, and enhance a culture of model-based digital engineering.
• Develop standard work and business operating procedures related to MBSE deployment to new product development projects.
• Act as a member of the various product and technology development teams to Transport Refrigeration products that meet or exceed their requirements.
• Support and successfully accomplish annual corporate objectives for individuals and teams.
• Effectively utilize personal project management techniques and utilize the available technical skills and resources necessary for success.
• Be a strong team player.
• Work closely and mentor other engineering resources globally.
• Act as a representative to promote the concepts of model-based system engineering within Thermo King and Trane Technologies.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field is required.
• Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) practices across hardware and software is required.
• Knowledgeable in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and experience in applying it to the full engineering lifecycle is required.
• Experience in refrigeration systems and components, such as engines, fans, compressors, power electronics, and control systems is highly preferred.
• OCSMP (Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional) certification is highly preferred.

• INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) is preferred.
• Experience in Transport Refrigeration products is preferred.
• Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Digital Engineering tools.
• Strong experience with requirements management, architecture definition, verification and validation.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills required.
• Must be able to work on multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.

Base Compensation Range is $86,000 to $179,000. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
