We are seeking a Technical Lead for our Discovery Engineering team which focuses on improving product discovery for practitioners and patients. As a Technical Lead, you will drive impactful technical decisions, influence the architecture of catalog discovery features, and work closely with your team to improve how health practitioners and patients find the products they need. This team will work closely with our Design System, Search Algorithm, and Catalog teams.

What you'll do:

• Lead our Discovery Engineering “pod” (A small team of frontend and full-stack engineers)
• Manage and grow your team of developers — direct reports. 
• Plan and architect projects, leading design discussions and decisions.
• Craft and maintain a quarterly view of the roadmap that balances technical initiatives and product features. 
• Help meet company goals while maintaining our application's technical health and security.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other technical leaders in product engineering, infrastructure, security, and more.
• Contribute to the code base and work alongside engineers to take projects over the finish line. 

What you bring to the table:

• The ability to iterate, move fast, and measure while maintaining quality
• A keen eye for detail and passion for building stunning user experiences
• You care about helping your team grow and encouraging an environment of high psychological safety
• Experience leading a full-stack software development team
• You are passionate about fostering strong engineering practices and processes.
• Experience working on high-scale web applications.
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a modern full-tech stack. Ruby, Rails, React, JavaScript, Graphql, and Apollo are preferred.
• Experience with e-commerce at scale, operations, and distribution is considered an asset, specifically around search and discovery. 
• Nice to have: Experience working with search engines, such as Elasticsearch. Opensearch or Solr.
