The Experience research team will be passionate about learning from our consumers' and customers' lived experiences and helping teams to understand those circumstances and needs so that we create meaningful experiences that are usable by everyone. Role
We're looking for a user experience researcher to work with our core Consumer and Customer product/product design teams. You'll play a key role in helping teams develop a holistic, end-to-end understanding of the experiences that our consumers and customers face in their user journey. The insights that you gather about their needs, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors will inspire and inform the experiences we build. Your cross-functional product teams will consist of product managers, marketers, designers and developers that will be distributed across the US and Canada. You'll work with the design leaders within each area to ensure that there is alignment on the prioritized work with the necessary time/capacity allocated to it.

This role will report to the VP, Research & Insights
What you'll do:
- Conduct end-to-end research with guidance using a mix of methodologies, qualitative and quantitative, to help us gain confidence in our understanding of consumers' and customers' circumstances and needs and uncover insights into what they truly need
- Partner with product, design and product marketing teams and other researchers to help develop a holistic understanding of the experiences that consumers and customers face
- Design and develop multiple research studies, identifying the best methodology in partnership with team members, executing with attention to detail and quality
- Guide stakeholder teams in applying the most effective approach for achieving research goals and help them work together to arrive at actionable consumer insights
- Apply a broad range of approaches to answering questions, including using existing data, secondary data, and outside-the-box thinking to most effectively and efficiently inform decisions and designs. Have a POV on whether additional research is necessary.
- Synthesize research data, create research readouts, create spectrum personas, behavioral archetypes, and behavioral segmentation for the design and product teams to utilize in their lines of business
- Plan and facilitate research, synthesis and insights workshops with cross-functional partners
- Influence your product team to look for and ask the right questions rather than rushing to answers and solutions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work closely with stakeholders and managers to effectively prioritize your research roadmap.
- Collaborate with, and learn from, the inclusive design and accessibility team in order to successfully adopt and incorporate inclusive methods into your research practice
What you'll bring:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and conducting research (in-person and remote) and be able to show how your work has had an impact on product roadmaps and/or informed design decisions.
- Experience with a variety of qualitative and mixed-method research techniques, along with the knowledge of when and why to apply them.
- Have created effective ways of sharing your insights so they resonate and are impactful
- Experience crafting your own research questions, research objectives, interview guides.
- Comfortable working with data of all kinds. Examples include gathering data, analyzing data, developing insights, creating research summaries, and curating research.
- Experience with facilitation (such as workshops and training)
- Experience in UX Design, hierarchy of information, and product development/optimization
- Strong and clear communication skills - an expert storyteller in a variety of settings with multiple levels of stakeholders and effective deck builder
- Informed and strong opinions, loosely held
- Exemplifies a "We, Not Me attitude" - Is a team player.
- Expertise using UXR platforms such as UserTesting, UserZoom, UserInterviews, dScout, Optimal Workshop, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, i.e. Human Computer Interaction, Analytics, Cognitive Science or equivalent experience required. Advanced technical degree preferred.
