Job Summary
The FP&A function provides senior management with forward looking projections, forecasts and analysis of F&G’s financial results and operating performance, connecting strategy to performance. The FP&A team has a significant contribution to the successful setting of F&G financial targets and the ultimate achievement of them. They also enable management to credibly communicate with external stakeholders. The FP&A team partners to bring together all of the work of the deeply technical teams across finance, actuarial, investments, reinsurance and the lines of business to deliver value-added business analysis and metrics in support of enterprise-wide decision making. This team will have a comprehensive understanding of all key business performance drivers and sophisticated financial models.
The Lead Financial Analyst, FP&A - Performance Reporting & Analysis (PRA) position is responsible for execution of performance analytics and management reporting deliverables to senior management and external audiences.
Organization
This position reports to the AVP, FP&A PRA. This position will also support the SVP, Investor & External Relations and other teams including but not limited to finance, actuarial, investments, reinsurance, capital and finance business partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for execution of best-in-class, scalable FP&A performance analytics and management reporting deliverables.
- Prepare high quality financial packages tailored to audience; synthesize complex concepts to create analysis & messages that are clear and credible
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics
- Harness technology to drive automation and efficient delivery
- Assist in the development of, and own to execution of FP&A management reports, considering material nonpublic information (MNPI) and Regulation Fair-Disclosure (Reg F-D) requirements
- Collaborate across FP&A teams and Finance to drive deeper understanding of reporting requirements across F&G
This position will lead FP&A execution of high-quality Executive management presentations, telling the story on financial results and projections to CEO, MC, FNF (parent Company) and Boards in support of internal and external messaging.
- Lead preparation of Executive presentations regarding F&G business updates and financial performance
- Lead preparation of FP&A business decision support, including ad hoc analysis of complex financial business issues that impact the organization
- Contribute to the build of monthly and quarterly financial results with a lens to support internal and external messaging
- Perform recurring and ad hoc analysis to assist business decision making, highlighting effect(s) on F&G’s ability to achieve results
- Understand performance drivers of corporate and line of business results; prepare predictive driver-based models, analysis and dashboards to demonstrate
- Participate in strategic initiatives, as appropriate, to understand and forecast impacts
- Serve as champion for a single version of truth and cohesive messaging of financial performance across corporate and line of business deliveries
The position will also support Finance deliveries to the SVP Investor and External Relations, partnering to articulate F&G’s strategy and financial performance to key constituents, such as sell-side analysts, equity and debt investors, rating agencies and regulators.
- Serve as a supporting resource to ensure credible, aligned and relevant messaging
- Support SVP IR/ER to prepare and coordinate materials for quarterly and annual earnings cycle materials, board presentations, investor meetings and conferences, investor day events, regulator and rating agency surveillance calls, and Institutional diligence collateral
- As needed, provide oversight of F&G’s ‘Investors’ public website
- Support development and preparation of targeted peer company, industry and competitor analysis to help manage F&G business and to respond to industry issues and concerns on a timely basis
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial or related field
- 5 – 7 years related professional experience in financial reporting and/or financial planning & analysis required
- CPA, FSA, or MBA preferred
- Annuity and life insurance experience highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting practices and principles
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required
