Alliant Energy has an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Financial Analyst to join our Capital Planning team! This role's primary focus will be on the capital planning and reporting process for Alliant Energy projects and facilities.

In this role you will be responsible for multiple assignments involving highly sophisticated and technically advanced financial and economic analyses, modeling, and research for capital activities. You will interpret financial plans, rate review filing documents and business planning and support analyses. You also will lead work with customers to achieve business goals and strategically and proactively address opportunities and challenges.

** This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to either the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office.

Responsibilities;

  • Effectively leads meetings and communicates (verbally and written) sophisticated financial information to internal and external partners in a concise and simplified manner both verbally and in writing. Actively listens to alternative ideas and views to determine the best recommendation or decision for our customers and company.
  • Maintain and modify financial models to generate business unit level long-term forecasts or make business recommendations with limited direction from a manager.
  • Completes analysis of financial data/trends including comparing forecast to actual results to determine business drivers of variances with limited to no supervision.
  • Participates in analysis, performance benchmarking, opportunity and risk assessments with limited direction from a manager.
  • Proactively works with customers to provide strategic consulting to help achieve business goals and assist in implementing the recommendations.
  • Effectively working with accounting and other finance departments to ensure capital planning is accurately reflected in financial statements and forecasts based on the pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Uses, maintains, and supports the data sources utilized for capital planning.
  • Maintain relationships and be a strategic partner with business units to understand and participate in their capital planning activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in corporate finance, project controls, investment management, cost accounting or investor relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related area.
  • Master's or Advanced Degree .
  • Certification CPA, CMA, or CFA.
