Overview

Ten Mile Square is looking for a talented full-stack TypeScript software engineer who is passionate about technology to join our growing team of product, technology, and software professionals. The initial assignment for the new position is to architect and implement robust and scalable user interfaces for a loan origination system for a financial institution. You should have a strong background in TypeScript, Node.JS, and Angular, coupled with expertise in software engineering principles, agile methodologies, and CI/CD. You should also be well-versed in open-source user experience frameworks and capable of guiding the team in developing clean, maintainable code while preventing the emergence of anti-patterns. You will work with highly experienced team leads and have an opportunity to learn new technologies, while refining fundamental skills. 

Salary Range (Base + Standard Bonus): 170K – 190K

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership
  • Lead the design and development of sophisticated, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces for loan origination involved systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the UI development team, ensuring the adoption of best practices and adherence to software engineering standards.
• Technology Acumen
  • Utilize TypeScript, Node.JS, Angular/React, GraphQL, and Jest to design and implement high-quality user interfaces.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in open-source user experience frameworks and integrate them seamlessly into the development process.
• Code Quality and Patterns
  • Guide the team in implementing clean, maintainable code using frontend software design patterns.
  • Identify and prevent the emergence of anti-patterns within the development process.
• Collaboration and Mentorship
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product owners.
  • Champion a culture of excellence in software craftsmanship and mentor junior members of the development team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Agile and CICD Integration
  • Champion agile principles and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Work towards the integration of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) practices to streamline development workflows.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

• At least 7 years of related experience, or equivalent training and / or work experience.
• Extensive experience as a UI Engineer with expertise in TypeScript, NodeJS, Angular/React, GraphQL, and Jest.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with user experience design, human factors, and information architecture to inform user interface implementations.
• Proficiency in responsive design and implementation.
• Proficiency in integrating open-source user experience frameworks into software development projects.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities within a development team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Experience with agile principles, the scrum framework, and test-driven development.
• Have a strong bias for action and learning by doing mindset.
• Thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
