Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you'll collaborate closely with the Chief Design Officer and fellow engineers to transform innovative designs into high-performance web applications. Your deep expertise in React and plain JavaScript will be crucial in building responsive, intuitive user interfaces, including complex visualization interfaces that present data in impactful ways. Leading a lean and talented team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our SaaS product, ensuring it meets both business objectives and user needs.

The impact you'll have:

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and development, owning frontend development projects end-to-end, from conception through implementation and deployment. Your technical proficiency and leadership will directly influence the quality, performance, and scalability of our applications, enhancing user satisfaction and engagement. By leveraging your strong experience in React, JavaScript, complex API interactions, and related technologies like Redux and Netlify, you will drive our mission forward by creating interfaces that empower our users and elevate our brand.

You'll immediately provide value by:

  • Leading and mentoring the frontend team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Driving the development of complex frontend features and visualization interfaces using React, JavaScript, and Redux, ensuring alignment with product strategy and timelines.
  • Writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code to enhance our web applications.
  • Translating precise design specifications into pixel-perfect implementations, collaborating closely with our User Experience team.
  • Integrating frontend components with complex backend APIs, working in tandem with back-end developers for seamless functionality.
  • Implementing best practices for frontend development, including performance optimization, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Deploying applications using platforms like Netlify, and setting up efficient CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions that shape the future of our frontend stack.

To be a successful match you must have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with React, with a solid understanding of its core principles and ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles, leading frontend teams or projects.
  • Strong proficiency in plain JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
  • Extensive experience working with complex APIs, including RESTful and GraphQL.
  • Proven expertise in building complex visualization interfaces, using libraries like D3.js or similar.
  • Familiarity with building and deploying applications using Netlify or similar platforms.
  • Proven track record of working on SaaS products, demonstrating a deep understanding of user needs and product requirements.
  • Experience building and maintaining production web applications, with attention to performance and scalability.
  • Ability to deliver meticulous, pixel-perfect implementations of designs.
  • Proficiency in modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with modern build tools and version control (e.g., Webpack, Babel, Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

What we offer:

  • Potential equity package
  • Excellent health insurance coverage, with ability to join group dental and vision for a nominal fee
  • 4% 401K matching
  • 20 paid time off days
  • 5 paid sick days
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • 10+ annual company holidays
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth within a dynamic environment
  • A supportive and inclusive company ethos where your ideas are valued, your contributions are recognized, and your impact is tangible
  • The chance to be part of a small but mighty team that's making waves in the industry and shaping the future of technology
  • Beautiful HQ in Soho, NYC with the opportunity to work in-office, if desired

We are open to different backgrounds and tenure for this hire and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Please note that equity may be included in our total package, depending on role and level.
