Lead Full Stack Developer

PicThrive is a software platform that is dedicated to improving the photo & video experience of tourists and tourism businesses everywhere. We are a small, dedicated team that works closely with our customers so we can build solutions that make a real impact. We are committed to continuously improving and bringing that change to all our customers.

TLDR: We build the software platform that enables Skydiving, Whitewater Rafting, Ziplining (etc.) customers to display and sell their photos and videos to their guests. It’s the fun part of tourism :)

Software Development Engineer

Our engineering team is small and lean. That means we are responsible for designing and building the core product and infrastructure that powers PicThrive’s platform. That means talking to customers, refining needs and inventing new solutions. 

We work with both the front-end and back-end. Our team is responsible for all our image and video processing, serving and storage. We have already processed over 50 million photos, with more uploaded everyday.

As a member of this team you will get to play around with all aspects of our platform. We enjoy the variety and challenge of working on different components. It can be quite refreshing to switch from one focus to another, and not be stuck working on one feature forever. We hope you agree.

You will get to work on our existing platform expanding out features to better help our customers. You will also help us explore new technology to innovate in our industry.

The Role

We are looking for engineers with the following skill sets, experience and passions:

• 4+ years experience in software engineering or similar

• Passion for innovating and finding a better way. We love constant improvement and fresh ideas

• Desire to learn more. We work on all areas of the PicThrive platform and use different tools/languages to reach our goals. Learning these new concepts, languages and cross-functional needs is a must

• Experience with SPA and REST architectures

• Good understanding of of distributed systems, databases, workload sharing and associated trade-offs

• Experience talking to customers and applying Design Thinking or similar principles

• Bonus if you have experience with our tech: GoLang, TypeScript, AngularJS, Svelte, AWS

Compensation

Salary Range: $110k-$150k
