Lead Game Artist

SOFTGAMES is looking for a dynamic Lead Game Artist (f/m/x) to join our team remotely and spearhead the artistic vision of our multi-platform sensation, SOLITAIRE HOME STORY ('SOHO'). SOHO has been captivating players since its launch in 2021, boasting exponential revenue growth and expanding platform reach. Our focus is on the mobile version, currently in soft launch phase, which has recently achieved a significant milestone.

As the Lead Game Artist, you will helm a talented and diverse remote art team comprising six members: three skilled 2D environment artists, an accomplished animator, a proficient character artist, and a creative UI artist.

In this pivotal role, you'll be reporting directly to the game's Producer, serving as their trusted "eyes" on all artistic matters. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously uphold and evolve the established visual style and quality of the game. Your leadership will be instrumental in inspiring, nurturing, and guiding our team of artists towards realizing the game's artistic vision.

Your Role:

• Fostering a healthy culture in the game team which emphasizes craftsmanship, creativity, learning, open sharing, and communication

• Creating concepts, characters, backgrounds, and UI- not shy to be hands-on

• Optimizing standards and art pipelines in terms of quality and technology

• Guiding HR and management with hiring & training

Characteristics of Top Applicants: 

• 5 years + of experience in the games industry in a leading art position; ideally with deep experience in casual puzzle free to play mobile games

• Significant experience with Figma

• Significant experience with Spine animation/2d animation

• Understanding of technical art

• Passionate about creating, evolving and executing an artistic vision

• An excellent eye for detail and what world leading mobile games look like

• Exceptional communication in English and strong visual presentation skills
