Job Summary:

At SciPlay, Lead Product Designers manage a team of Product Designers and are responsible for the feature design and implementation process. They utilize their experience and expertise in managing and designing features across the entire development lifecycle to ensure the new feature ideas or iterations managed by their team meet the business and players expectations. Their excellent interpersonal, communication and mentorship skills are used to lead and motivate the game team to execute on and implement these new features or functionality in the game. They define “HOW” their team of Product Owners/Designers can be successful.

Essential Job Functions:

· Carries out supervisory responsibilities including training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues.

· Develop, iterate, and maintain our pre production processes including user feedback, designs, prototypes and user stories.

· Reviews and approves other designers’ user feedback documentation, designs, prototypes and user stories.

· Partners with cross department leadership to plan our feature roadmap and ensure pre-production tasks are completed on time.

· Leads the the development of new feature ideas or iterations from design through implementation.

· Designs and owns thoughtful, best in class UX in all feature and optimization specifications.

· Produces wireframes, storyboards, or prototypes that can be user tested across various platforms.

· Seeks regular feedback from customers and stakeholders and refines feature requirements accordingly.

· Designs and maintains a high-quality backlog of “ready to implement” features for roadmapping and sprint planning with epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria to best achieve key product outcomes.

· Writes, refines and prioritizes user stories that have clear acceptance criteria and are broken down into the smallest valuable increments.

· Leads the planning of releasable milestones, sets stakeholder expectations for the delivery of new functionalities and ensures milestones are adhered to by the development team.

· Helps to lead sprint activities such as, planning sessions, sprint reviews, standups, and other scrum meetings.

· Acts as the day-to-day primary point of contact for any feature related questions from the game team.

· Validates the development work aligns with business goals and accepts user stories during the sprint.

Requirements

Requirements

· 5+ years of related experience in game design or game development

· 2+ years of supervisory experience and proven ability to level up others.

· Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills with the proven ability to build consensus and buy-in among collogues.

· Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong ability to write actionable and detailed user stories, defining best practices and mentoring other product owners.

· Strong ability to design and prototyping in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma and others.

· Passionate curiosity for UX and UI and self motivated to stay up-to-date on trends and best practices and regularly assists other product owners.

· Strong ability to seek constructive feedback from users, stakeholders, or peers

· Familiarity working with Agile Scrum methodologies, including the ability to write actionable and detailed user stories

· Ability to handle interruptions and adjust to quick changes in priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Effective listener and strong ability to resolve conflicts that arise during the development process.
