Lead Graphic Designer Location:San Diego CA - Hybrid (In office work required) Employment Type:Full-Time *PORTFOLIO REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION* We are seeking aLead Graphic Designerto oversee and elevate our creative output across digital, print, and branded merchandise. The ideal candidate is not only a skilled designer but also a leader who can guide projects from concept to execution, ensuring quality, creativity, and consistency. Responsibilities • Lead the design team and provide direction, feedback, and approvals on creative projects. • Develop design solutions for packaging, apparel, large-scale displays, swag items, and marketing materials. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality creative assets across multiple platforms. • Manage file setup and preparation for both digital and print manufacturers. • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table. • Ensure all projects align with brand standards while pushing creative boundaries. Required Skills & Qualifications • Experience:3–4+ years working in a professional graphic design role. • Software Expertise:Advanced proficiency inAdobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. • Design Fundamentals:Strong grasp of typography, layout, and color theory with the ability to adapt to different styles and aesthetics. • Print Production Knowledge:Hands-on experience preparing files for packaging, apparel, and promotional merchandise. • File & Color Management:Understanding ofRGB/CMYK modes, proper file setup, and exporting for various mediums. • Leadership:Ability to guide, oversee, and improve design projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. • Portfolio:A diverse, professional portfolio demonstrating timeless design principles, trend awareness, and flexibility across formats. • Trend Awareness:Up to date with design movements and able to integrate them into new creative solutions. • General Tech Knowledge:Familiarity with ChatGPT or prompt-based creative tools is a plus. Technical Skill Requirements Adobe Photoshop • Color correction and adjustments • Packaging mockups and presentation assets • Healing tools (spot healing, healing brush) • Use of generative fill and other AI-based features Adobe Illustrator • Typography and vector-based design • Custom illustrations, icons, and packaging layouts • Apparel graphics and print-ready files • Large-scale display and promotional design Adobe InDesign • High-level ability with paragraph/character styles • Designing and managing long-form, book-like documents • Exporting and packaging files with fonts, photos, and elements What We’re Looking For A creative leader who thrives at the intersection of timeless design principles and cutting-edge tools.
