Position Overview:
You will report to the Director of People Analytics & Insights to build and expand the reach and role of people data among leaders and stakeholders at Paylocity. As a People Analytics Lead, HR Data Analyst you will be an integral part of the People Analytics team to deliver solutions that empower People leaders to integrate data into their daily workflow to drive business outcomes. You will have the opportunity to build data solutions that leverage your expertise on how data, when actioned, helps improve people strategy and the employee experience including diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, retention, and talent development.
The Lead HR Data Analyst is responsible for researching and presenting assigned data, developing ad hoc reports or metrics, meeting with HR Leaders and stakeholders to address issues and offer recommendations, produce insights, troubleshoot operating models, measure the effectiveness of people initiatives, and ensure full compliance with data privacy guidelines.
Responsibilities:
The below represents some of the primary responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Data Management: Data accuracy is an integral part of scaling People Analytics capabilities and solutions. You will be working with employee data every day. Whether it is demographic information, compensation, performance data, the ability to perform exploratory data analysis to assess the overall quality of the data is essential for this role. Ensure high quality, accurate, insightful data is produced and maintained, partnering with HR peer teams to identify process controls and data integrity. Advises peers on how the People Analytics team consumes data. Drives a standardization philosophy to help democratize knowledge of how people data is consumed for analytics and solutions.
- Data Asset Migration to BI: A key component of the role in the first 9 months will be partnering with team members to assess, scope and scale the migration of data assets that aligns with the People Analytics Master Data Model methodology. You should have a sound understanding of ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) methodologies, data modelling best practices including an understanding of cardinality and star schema as well as the ability to write complex measures that incorporate time-intelligence in a BI platform. You will be expected to have a complete deployment phase plan; create, and validate, deploy, support, and monitor all data assets. The preferred tool is Power BI.
- Reporting: Business leaders rely on the People Analytics team to provide employee information to support their decision-making. You will convert data into insights through standard reporting and ad-hoc analysis. Accurately produce all required HR data reports, displayed in appropriate formats, in agreed timeframes. Partners with different HR functions to provide process improvements and tools that drive data accuracy and efficiencies to improve reporting. Work closely with the business to create new reports and dashboards; and develop processes for program evaluation and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Advise on best practices to scale People Analytics in close partnership with the Director of People Analytics. Partner with team members to identify opportunities and make recommendations to migrate solutions to models and methodologies that will effectively reduce time to refresh as well as improve the overall health of production ready solutions.
- Project Coordination: Across HR, new capabilities and resources are constantly being added. To broaden your exposure to multiple parts of HR, on some projects you will be part of the launch team to get to know the area of HR and key stakeholders in the business.
- Day-to-day Support: As a fast-growing organization, things come up that are not planned. Everyone in HR approaches work with a low ego and 'How-can-I-help?' spirit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Statistics/Mathematics, Business, Human Resources/Organizational Behavior or a related field with 3+ years of experience providing human capital analytics and insights services at an enterprise level.
- Working knowledge of managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using at least 2-3 of the following tools such as tools; R, SQL, Power-BI, and Excel to drive analytics
- Preferred to have at least 5-7 years of related experience in an HR or data processing environment
- Previous experience working within an HR function, HRIS systems, possess an understanding of HR processes and administration
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks effectively, prioritize requests, and adapt well to change
- Requires strong attention to detail, management of deadlines, and accuracy of processing data while working in a fast-paced environment
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Detail-oriented mindset resulting in high-quality work and a strong, proactive follow-through.
- Collaborative problem-solving approach with the ability to work individually and as a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build "trust" with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and translate data into meaningful insights
- Delivering data, information, and insights in a secure manner

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to effectively manage tasks and meet deadlines

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $87,366 - $120,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
