Job Summary
In this role, a Lead IP video engineer is responsible for the architecture, the design and the performance of the critical components required to deliver video over IP infrastructure to customer devices. The primary role of an IP video engineer is to ensure that the backend components of the video delivery system are reliable, scalable, and efficient in delivering high-quality video content.
To be successful in this role, an IP video engineer should have a strong background in IP-based networking, video transmission technologies, and network security. They should also possess excellent problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities

• Designing, configuring, and deploying video transmission systems using IP-based technologies. These include but are not limited to CDNs, Origin Servers and Encryption systems
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to video transmission
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate video transmission systems with other enterprise applications and platforms
• Testing and evaluating new video transmission technologies and tools to improve the performance and quality of the network
• Maintaining documentation of network design, configuration, and changes
• Providing technical support to end-users, including training and troubleshooting
• Analyzing system performance data to identify and proactively resolve video delivery issues
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and direction

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 4 to 7 years in an infrastructure systems environment, preferably in large diverse server environments with high availability requirements
• Industry Certification complete in several disciplines

Technical Skills:

• Extensive troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of HTTP streaming protocols like HLS and DASH
• Knowledge of Digital Rights Management systems like Apple Fairplay and Widevine. Nagra is a plus
• Experience with load balancing solutions like F5
• Knowledge of Linux operating system and machine virtualization software (VMWare, etc)
• Knowledge of ad insertion in IP video streams is a plus

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $115,224.00 - $184,358.00 /year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
