The Lead IT Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for undertaking projects and tasks as part of the Core Components team that provides support for Compute, Network, Data Center and Automation services for various CIO lines of business. Support foundational technical infrastructure, platforms and systems that support The Hartford's business functions and processes. Other IT Infrastructure engineering experience required for this position includes Linux server administration, enterprise software implementation, and server security technologies. Additionally, we are embarking on a cloud transformation journey which will require a foundational understanding of AWS services. This will be important for migrating on-premise applications within The Hartford's enterprise technology infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on technical role to undertake projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • A minimum of five plus years of IT Infrastructure experience required, including experience with compute and storage infrastructure.
  • Server engineering experience with IT Infrastructure projects involving Linux server administration, enterprise software implementation, and server security technologies is required.
  • Strong track record of service delivery using ITIL processes.
  • Experienced working with agile development teams, methodologies and toolsets.
  • Experience with DevOps practices including but not limited to continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) concepts and tools, familiarity with automated testing and code analysis tools.
  • Responsible for engineered design, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Stay current with technology trends and innovative new ways in operational concepts and tools for solving technical problems.
  • Self-starter/self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision; flexible; "do-whatever-it-takes" solution-oriented approach.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Determined to deliver outcomes and able to overcome obstacles in order to resolve service management incidents.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as proficiency in creating technical documentation.
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$117,360 - $176,040
