The Lead, IT Program Manager is a motivating leader who drives strategic initiatives ensuring collaboration, communication, and visibility of projects and programs. Incumbent is a self-starting individual with an aptitude for creative and critical thinking. Individual uses business expertise and enjoys collaborating with partners at all levels of the organization to implement positive change.
Leader thrives in a dynamic and agile work environment with iterative planning and delivery cycles, ensuring quality control throughout the program life. Lead, IT Program Manager helps envision solutions and adapts style to the business style of stakeholders and areas of the business. Individual nurtures positive, professional relationships, acting as a trusted partner and a respectful challenger.
Job Description:
Major Responsibilities:
- Leads large multi-domain/discipline projects from end to end while ensuring stakeholder alignment along the way
- Helps to organize and execute the product strategy across an entire domain/discipline and incorporates other domains/disciplines
- Along with Project Sponsors, accountable for achieving the business results described in project/program charter
- Anticipates business needs/senior leadership questions/needs and owns business outcome
- Understands and communicates context of interdependencies of multiple domains/disciplines
- Proactively plans and measures project benefits
- Leading contributor to Best Practices Team of all the IT Project Managers in the organization, serving as a thought leader
- Holds leaders accountable, ensuring project team leadership has a clear understanding of goals and timelines
- Guides project managers and teams to analyze and solve problems across business areas (people, structures, processes and technology); identifies the things that work together to improve operational health
- Challenges, engages and inspires others to commit to the work
- Encourages leaders to celebrate successes and recognize team members
- Understands talent capabilities and gaps within projects and programs
- Delivers constructive feedback, training, and coaching to improve the performance of others and inspires the team to excel
Supervisory Relationships:
- Position Reports To: IT Director
Incumbent Attributes:
- Education: BS/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions. MS/MA/MBA typically preferred. Typically, incumbents will have industry recognized professional certifications as demonstration of the level of professional knowledge, i.e., CPA, PE, CISSP, CSCP.
- Years of experience: More than 10 years of professional experience is typically required to complete all essential job functions. Experience typically spans across multiple functional areas to provide the breadth of perspective
- Other unique job-relevant attributes:
- Experience managing projects/programs with budget of +$5M
- Agile/lean experience in organizations leveraging lean/agile methodologies and in-depth experience with agile methodologies
- PMI-PMP preferred
- Program management experience in information technology with a focus on managing large and complex transformational projects.
- Supervisory experience managing and leading an IT team of Business Analysts and/or Project Managers
- Ability to work in diverse, fast paced environment and effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
