Extreme Networks is searching for a Lead Backend developer to help develop applications for Extreme Cloud Platform and Extreme Partner Applications.

Extreme Cloud is an industry-leading and visionary approach to cloud managed networking, built from the ground up to take full advantage of Extreme’s end-to-end networking, security solutions based on SD-WAN, Universal ZTNA and SASE. Extreme Cloud Platform helps businesses build secure, high performance hybrid networks that combine Internet and MPLS, while delivering the best possible quality of experience for their cloud applications.

 As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to design, develop and contribute across the Extreme Cloud Platform and various applications stack, ranging from cloud-based microservices to on-premises virtual appliances.

Responsibilities:

• What You Will Do
• You will be part of a high-performing agile scrum team that designs, implements, and tests new features and functionality for Extreme Cloud Platform and Extreme Partner solutions. Development will include innovative technologies in the fields of Distributed Applications, Cloud Management, Cluster, Security, Machine Learning. You will take new features from concept to delivery, working closely with team members and cross-functional partners to design and develop high-quality solutions that take into consideration scalability, availability, and performance. You will also actively participate in design and code reviews for the team.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering
• Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.)
• 5 or more years of Hands on programming experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, Spring Framework XML, REST, JSON
• Hands-on programming experience with Kafka, MQTT, RabbitMQ, Hibernate, Postgres, Distributed Storage (Elasticsearch etc.)
• Hands-on experience working with large scale workflow orchestrator systems (conductor/uber cadence) is desired.
• Hands-on experience working on resilient, scalable distributed systems
• Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker)
• Working experience with Jenkins and AWS Cloud services is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional skills you might bring and/or learn:

• Experience developing enterprise security/networking products
• Experience with cloud architecture and related technologies
• Familiarity with SD-WAN, Universal ZTNA and SASE technologies
• Working integration experience with large scale billing, entitle management systems is desired.
• Working experience in Golang is desired
• Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning as it relates to networking
• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and distributed computing
