About the role: The Lead Licensing Advocate functions as a liaison between the advocate team and senior management in Licensing Services. The Lead Licensing Advocate will be a point of contact for new and developing licensing team members and will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, feedback and training to inspire each to perform at their optimum level. The Lead Licensing Advocate will take initiative to ensure smooth licensing operations; will demonstrate effective communication and collaborate within the licensing team and with other departments to ensure a world-class onboarding experience for our agents.

What you’ll do:

  • Periodically facilitate pre-onboarding sessions (virtual and in-office) to set up new employees for success in training and their licensing journey
  • Update onboarding systems in a timely manner to accurately reflect where agents are in their employment journey
  • Handle with discretion highly sensitive information and adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies and regulations
  • Interact daily with team members, agents and managers
  • Update systems with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the licensing department
  • Identify areas of opportunity for Licensing Advocates; work with Licensing Managers to provide feedback and coaching to help them develop new skills and behaviors
  • Delegate tasks, set deadlines and follow up to ensure satisfactory completion
  • Identify ways to support and collaborate to ensure team members can perform to achieve team goals/objectives
  • Support our environment of open communication and continuous improvement
  • Work with the Licensing Manager to manage escalations; seek support from the next level of leadership or HR when needed
  • Serve as back-up for absences or when workload volume increases
  • Communicate effectively with agents, senior management and partners in other departments
  • Monitor and follow up on employees with “Delayed Status”; work with Licensing Manager to identify alternate paths for candidates who aren’t able to get licensed or appointed with carriers
  • Effectively use tools and reports to identify and resolve issues that prevent the smooth transition of employees from their start date to fully Appointed to Sell

What we’re looking for:

  • 1+ years licensing experience; call center experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Some experience with delivery of coaching and receptive to receiving feedback
  • Proficient with MS Office suite; highly proficient with MS Excel
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented; effective time management skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • Experience with fingerprinting and a licensed notary (or ability to become a notary) is preferred
