Role: Lead Machine Learning Operations Engineering 

Location: Remote, India

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead MLOps Engineer to lead and help build our efforts in developing and maintaining a robust MLOps environment. As the Lead MLOps Engineer, you will work closely with our data scientists and engineers to streamline the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models and ensure the reliability and scalability of our MLOps infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• MLOps Strategy: Develop and execute an MLOps strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. This includes defining best practices, processes, and tools for model deployment and monitoring.
• Platform Management: Lead the design and implementation of the MLOps platform, including provisioning cloud resources, containerization, and orchestration solutions.
• Model Delivery: Oversee the delivery of machine learning models into production, ensuring reliability, scalability, and the ability to roll back in case of issues.
• Automation: Implement automation pipelines for model training, testing, and deployment, reducing manual intervention and ensuring consistency.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Develop and maintain model monitoring solutions to track model performance and health. Establish alerting systems to respond to issues in real-time.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps professionals, to bridge the gap between Science and Engineering.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that the MLOps infrastructure adheres to security and compliance standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all MLOps processes and workflows, making it accessible to the broader team.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior MLOps engineers and collaborate with the broader engineering team on project planning and execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in machine learning systems management, MLOps, and DevOps.
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud platforms (ECS, StepFunctions, SageMaker, etc) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of security and compliance in the context of machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms and/or DevOps.
• Experience with open-source MLOps tools and frameworks including MLFlow, Kedro, DVC, ONNX, etc.
• Knowledge of big data technologies and distributed computing.
• Experience with deep learning architectures.
• Specialized experience in an application area such as NLP, Computer Vision, LLMs, GIS, etc.
