Role Summary

The Senior Business Management Analyst will be called upon to lead cross-functional/segment team projects as defined in the overall USI strategic business plan. This position will also facilitate the USI governance/prioritization process for strategic initiatives that may include business cases, resource strategy, technology, sales, marketing, operations, and legal engagements. This role requires high collaboration within USI, across USI segments and functions and with key USI business partners. The incumbent will lead and champion efforts to ensure effective administrative and operational support for the USI business and will provide all levels of decision-makers with relevant and current information that increases transparency into and knowledge of business costs/drivers and how business efforts are performing and aligning with current strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Business Management Support & Consultation
    • Ensure effective execution of USI segment and functional routines and governance
    • Support management of strategy, change management, best practices, facilities and headcount
    • Act as point of contact for Business Management support for USI segments and functions.
    • Produce professional grade presentations and business intelligence for senior management within USI and Global Distribution
    • Work closely with Senior Leaders to build / update annual strategic plans, sales goals, and KPIs
    • Support strategic programs and projects to support USI or Global Distribution, as needed


  • Lead initiatives to continually improve processes in USI
    • Identifies opportunities to improve existing processes, data flows, or resource allocations based upon changing business needs by proactively consulting with business partners.
    • Design/Improve scalable processes that are effective in achieving business outcomes, including implementation plans that incorporate change management and facilitate adoption
    • Leverage data to inform business decisions and work with Distribution Intelligence/ Distribution Enablement partners to help build data driven infrastructure for client facing associates and management
    • Work with Finance partners to manage expenses and forecast revenue, on behalf of USI and your segment


  • Champion change across the business to ensure adoption of best practices
    • Ensure that the USI segment and functional heads have clear understanding of on-going change initiatives across USI and Global Distribution
    • Ensure business readiness to adopt process change(s) and has the resources and training needed support the process change on an on-going basis.
    • Proactively identify best practices and develop ways to leverage this across USI (and where applicable across Global Distribution)


  • Provides support to the USI General Manager, Lead Business Manager(s), and Segment Management team on miscellaneous topics including, but not limited to:
    • Pricing inquiries (Relationship Pricing, transitional fee credits, etc.)
    • Financial inquiries and updates (e.g. hiring dates, processing invoices, expense & revenue analyses)
    • Provide consultation and qualitative input on decks, reports, etc.
    • Review and QA on high profile reporting outputs (ex. MC updates, budget submissions, etc.) sent to senior stakeholder including management committee
    • Provides support and develops solutions to address complex ad hoc business requests. Tracks issue resolution to inform policies and procedures or to increase the rate and efficiency with which issues are resolved.

  • Proven project management experience with a business perspective and strong process orientation with a history of delivering results
  • Strong Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage time and shifting priorities effectively while in a challenging operating environment, and under minimal guidance
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to act proactively
  • Strong analytical skills with keen instinct on how to gather meaningful data and synthesize it to represent a story
  • Prior experience working in an analyst, marketing or consulting capacity within the investment management industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and/or Visio and familiarity with various web content management applications/e-business platforms
  • Investment/product knowledge (preferred)


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience
  • MBA or CFA (preferred)
  • 8 - 10 experience in financial services, corporate strategy and/or management consulting with investment management focus preferred (preferred)
