This position is an Open Title 5 Excepted Service Non-Uniformed Personnel position, open to the Public and to Veterans following the Minnesota National Guard Merit Placement plan

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Prior to appointment, an applicant must have a current completed/clear drug test
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
  • Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • This position is not authorized for remote work.
  • This position may be authorized telework under specific circumstances
  • Must be able to physically start position within 30 days of extended offer
  • Must be able to work in the vicinity of youth and vulnerable adults
  • Must have a valid government issued drivers license
  • Excellent oral and written english communication skills
  • Will be required to work some weekends in a compensable status

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
24 months experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems including MS Office Suite 2016 or newer. Experience briefing senior leaders and large groups of people. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to communicate information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work, or in comparable work position to be filled. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Must be versatile, resilient, and responsive to change.
Most Qualified:
1. College degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Project Management, or other related field.
2. Previous experience with Family Programs or a subset of Joint Services and Support Branch (J9) (R3SP, CASOPS, TAA, MFH, IPP, etc).
3. Event planning, coordination, execution of large scale events (more than 50 attendees).
4. Knowledgeable on MN Army National Guard force structure and vast military terminology.
5. Experience using MOBCOP and/or MARRS-N.
Well Qualified:
1. Previous volunteer experience with a Soldier Family Readiness Group (SFRG), Key Partner/Spouse Group, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (BTYR) or other military connected volunteer organization.
2. Logisitical experience, preferrrably with, coordinating community resources, coordination of volunters for large scale (50 or more) resource distribution.
3. Content management, knowledge management, and/or Information Management Officer (IMO).
4. Familiar with MN Army National Guard force structure and general military terminology.
5. Defense Travel Administrator, Approver, or Reviewer experience.

Education

EDUCATION:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Recommended bachelor degree in related field of social work, human resources, business, or other related field.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Additional information

REMARKS: No PCS available. Position will not be filled until current incumbent vacates. Sensitivity Level 2. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
