Job Description

As a member of the Technology Infrastructure Team, the Lead Network Engineer role supports and ensures business success through a wide range of technology solutions. The Lead Network Engineer is primarily responsible for focusing on requirements definition, technical design, and construction of critical business communications globally. He or she will often serve as a project leader for infrastructure initiatives.

This role is designated as a hybrid role which includes working at least 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in one of our main offices located in Maumee, OH or North Olmstead, OH to foster better collaboration, connection, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain complicated Information Technology infrastructure including LAN, WAN, SAN, firewalls, servers, storage, and virtualization technologies with an emphasis on networking technology
  • Lead implementation of new technologies, focusing on continuous improvement of Information Technology infrastructure 
  • Provide production support for the Information Technology infrastructure, including performance monitoring, capacity monitoring, security, incident response, disaster recovery, and trouble ticket resolution
  • Participates on, and/or leads, major projects with accountability for an overall project or specific components of a project
  • May supervise the work of other project team members
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with an emphasis on networking
  • Must have demonstrable prior deployment experience with enterprise-class network solutions including: routers, switches, firewalls, WAN optimization solutions, load balancers, network proxies, host and network-based intrusion detection solutions, AAA systems, and enterprise VPN solutions
  • Possess working knowledge of routing, switching, MPLS, CoS/QoS, IPSEC of wired, wireless, and VoIP networks. Experience with IPv6 networks is desirable.
  • Scripting experience to compliment network/configuration management capability (Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Git, etc.)
  • Experience with network management and monitoring systems (Splunk, Syslog, PRTG, MRTG, SNMP, NetFlow, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Will need solid experience with: Microsoft Office 365 administration, Active Directory, SCCM
  • Migration experience is helpful 
  • Experience developing security strategy, policies, and standards is required
  • Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS) is desirable
  • Readily picks up and applies new technologies, communicates effectively, and works effectively on project teams as a leader or as a participant
