Lead Operational Controller

Job Description SummaryThe Lead Operational Controller is pivotal to the business in ensuring accuracy in accounting records, adherence to GE policies and compliance with local statutory reporting requirements. In this role, the Lead Operational Controller will work closely with HQ Finance, remote Finance team & the respective business function to put in place a robust control environment, and in driving the business Cashflow metrics and controllership initiatives.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Shared Service Focal: Lead the effort with Business and remote Finance teams to deliver high level of service performance for the Invoice to Cash, Buy to Pay, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Intercompany, Payroll and Record to Report functions to ensure that the business Controllership, Cashflow and Operations needs are met timely and compliantly.
• Statutory & Compliance: Focal person for Annual Statutory Audit, Tax & GST filing efforts with global accounting resources to ensure that statutory timelines are met on time and compliantly.
• Accounting policy and application: Assist in general accounting and policy application for topics covering inventory, revenue recognition, leases, receivables/payables, fixed assets, intercompany, etc., and ensuring that they comply with GE GAP, Aerospace Operating Policies & Procedures, Enterprise Standards, US GAAP and FRS.
• Internal audit: Focal person for finance internal audits and ensuring timely closure of all audit findings.
• Closing: Support closing activities and escalate/resolve issues to the relevant support functions on a timely manner.
• Inventory & Fixed Assets: Ensuring the accuracy of Inventory and Fixed Assets accounting records in compliance with GE policies and statutory requirements with strong process controls. Support the annual Physical Inventory and Fixed Assets count effort with Operations.
• Treasury: Handles all Bank and Treasury matters with the Centralized Treasury team and Cashflow forecasting needs for the business.
• Cashflow Forecast: Lead cash flow forecasting and reporting process for key cash drivers (i.e. inventory, fixed assets, accounts payables and accounts receivables) and deliver on business cash flow metrics.
• Controllership initiatives: Support to drive controllership synergy and lead process simplification and alignment initiatives.
• ERP implementation: Participate in SAP implementation project by identifying and working on solutions during the ERP planning and execution phases.
• Annual Budgeting: Assist in business planning processes.

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of working experience previously gained from big 4 accounting experience, second tier accounting firm, coupled with hands-on operational controllership experience from industrial business 
• Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Professional qualification with CPA or CA preferred.
