GENERAL FUNCTION:

Be an active contributor in the governance and execution of the Enterprise Operational Resilience Program. This includes providing consultative support as the subject matter expert to Line of Business owners and representatives as they work through the program lifecycles and framework requirements while they develop, maintain, and validate their resilience strategies.

In addition, performing governance related activities for the Enterprise Resilience Office such as performing credible challenge on strategies and plans, supporting process improvement opportunities, providing program system support, and delivering education and awareness opportunities to those required to receive training. Partner with and present to managers and team members as needed to advance the Enterprise Resilience Office objectives.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensure that actions and behaviors foster and drive an engaging culture positive customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the responsibilities defined within the Senior Enterprise Resilience Officer job description:

  • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders while delivering on a variety of initiatives aligned to Operational Resilience efforts.
  • Ensure Fifth Third Bancorp meets/exceeds internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support and provide input to the maintenance of any policies, frameworks, lifecycles, and standard documentation of internal requirements and controls needed to provide enterprise resilience.
  • Provide support to the program governance and departmental responses to exams, audits, assessments, and/or reviews from both internal teams and external agencies.
  • Provide support to the monitoring and performance of Operational Resilience KPI and KRI metrics. This includes partnering and guiding Lines of Business through the remediation of identified opportunities for improved resilience and preparedness levels.
  • Coaching and consulting stakeholders on Operational Resilience best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Assist in prioritizing assignments and managing the overall progress of Operational Resilience projects and enterprise-wide resilience efforts by ensuring those projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with Fifth Third policies and Regulatory Guidelines.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee Operational Resilience exercises.
  • Support corporate-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to enterprise resilience and preparedness.
  • Coordinate and develop procedures to ensure Fifth Third Enterprise can respond to an event in a manner that will allow for critical business processes to be resumed within a defined time frame, to minimize the amount of financial, property and personnel loss.
  • Coordinate, develop, and maintain applicable training material. Conduct education, awareness, and training for staff members in all functional areas.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of all Enterprise Resilience Office Playbooks.
  • Support the Enterprise Resilience Office Event Management activities, potentially 24x7x365.
  • Assist in identifying acceptable recovery time periods, and establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a business interruption.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise in recommending risk reduction strategies.
  • Stay current with studies in all types of disasters to understand the potential for occurring and how to plan for damage control and remediation.
  • Support all Enterprise Resilience Office exercises as appropriate.
  • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders while delivering on a variety of initiatives aligned to strategic Enterprise Resilience Office roadmaps.
  • Consult on Third Party contracts and assessments, as required.
  • Be an expert on foundational elements of the Enterprise Resilience Office programs, such as completing business impact analyses, determining mission critical business processes, identifying acceptable recovery time periods, and establishing resources required for the successful resilience or resumption of business operations in the event of a business interruption threat.
  • Provide leadership in working with other business units to ensure emergency procedures remain accurate and effective as continual changes to the enterprise happen.
  • Review and coordinate the restoration time requirements between the Business Lines and IT/Operational divisions, assisting in the identification of how much data and time the Business Lines can afford to lose.
  • Work across Enterprise Resilience Office teams to maintain and keep knowledge up to date. Stay up to date with regulations and best practices in the field of resilience, risk, and business continuity management.
  • Act as a champion for change by advocating value and purpose of Enterprise Resilience Office and modeling appropriate behaviors; providing coaching and training to existing departments/customers as needed.
  • Lead, own, identify, and recommend risk reduction ideas.
  • Provide leadership in the development and ongoing maintenance of the Enterprise Resilience Office Landing Pages.
  • Provide leadership in the maintenance of Enterprise Resilience Office SharePoint storage and other program storage locations.
  • Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of training materials for the Enterprise Resilience Office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Be active with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of six years of equivalent experience within the practice of operational resilience, emergency management, or business continuity management, preferably within a Financial Institution.
  • Ability to build upon Enterprise Resilience knowledge and pass knowledge on to others to broaden team scope of Enterprise Resilience, enhancing overall Bancorp resilience.
  • Demonstrated organizational, leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Models the skills and behaviors being taught; demonstrates the Fifth Third vision, values and competencies in all activities and interactions with others.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with event planning, instructional design, adult learning theory and project management.
  • Provides positive/constructive feedback to guide partners to successfully complete Enterprise Resilience activities and processes.
  • Team-oriented and flexible, adaptable to virtual team environment. Views learning as an ongoing effective means to drive performance.
  • Proficient in most Windows Office based technologies and software programs.
  • Certification as a Business Continuity Professional desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, etc.
  • Limited overnight business travel may be required from time to time.
  • Lifting and physical requirements of 25 pounds (moving tables, chairs, equipment, and carrying materials, supplies, boxes, etc.).
  • Physical ability to operate training equipment (pc, projectors, easels, etc.).
