Description
Payroll Systems & Compliance Analyst assists in evaluating, implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Payroll system, related business processes and compliance. In addition, a Payroll Systems & Compliance Analyst performs a wide range of research tasks as well as assist in activities from gathering business requirements, functional processes, testing, implementation and post-production support. Incumbent works independently under general direction.
Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities β’ Participates in Payroll planning projects. β’ Research and analyze new enhancements, new modules and functionality. β’ Assist in the development or modification of existing payroll processes and programs to meet changing business demands. β’ Assist in internal training. β’ Monitors maintenance and configuration of Payroll systems to include Payroll, and Tax. β’ Reviews product release notes to identify changes and downstream affects. β’ Research tax compliance notices and assist with Payroll Operations updates. β’ Assist in developing testing strategies for Payroll, Tax, and Time Keeping. β’ Create and execute test scenarios. β’ Document, research and resolve issues related to testing activities. β’ Coordinate testing activities with internal resources. Production Support β’ Support Payroll department in day to day activities as it relates to system processes. β’ Provide email and on-line support for team members from research through resolution. β’ Provide assistance and guidance with all payroll and tax related functions and processes. β’ Provide proactive solutions and communicate to department teams. β’ Analyze data, identify root causes and maintain documentation of software issue.
Qualifications
About You:
Basic Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent
combination of education and experience. β’ A minimum of five years' experience in Payroll β’ Strong understanding of Payroll processes and data. β’ Strong analytical skills. β’ Experience using SQL. β’ Experience using Cognos Analytics. β’ UKG Pro system and Tax filing experience
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and to build
and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. β’ Strong teamwork, analytical skills and detailed oriented. β’ Knowledge of current rules, regulations, laws, principles, and practices related to
Payroll. β’ Knowledge of Payroll processing, and ability to recommend changes or
improvements to existing processes or systems. β’ Knowledge of computer applications related to advanced query and reporting. β’ Knowledge of preparing documentation for monthly, quarterly and annual filings.β’ Analytical, timely and detailed oriented. β’ Experience developing training materials, documenting processes, and conducting
training sessions with end-users. β’ Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information from intentional or
unintentional disclosure. β’ Strong focus on customer service.
