We are currently seeking a Lead Platform Architect (Remote Position) to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina (US-NC), United States (US).

Job Summary

Provision, configure, Automate and maintains cloud-based infrastructure, services, technologies, applications, and systems. Applies secure engineering concepts and principles to the design of cloud-based optimal solutions. Evaluates business needs, defines functional requirements and technical specifications, and codes secure and efficient solutions or enhancements. Tests infrastructure as code functionality and monitors performance, ensuring accessibility and scalability.

Job Description• Configure, integrate and operationalize hybrid and scalable Cloud infrastructure, platform and processes across the various services and toolsets (Teraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, CloudBees, AI Automation, Authentication, Authorization, Encryptions, Networks etc.)• Configure and setup continuity of business (CoB) and disaster recover (DR) to enable maximum infrastructure up time and load balancing• Creates and maintains technical documentation as it relates to all aspects of the Cloud platform implementation• Ensures that Cloud environments remain in compliance with the current standards and works with consuming teams to update when required• Develops automation (touchless) for the standardization and provisioning of the Cloud environments and architectural design patterns for consumption by project teams• Creates and maintains runbooks/playbooks for operational support of the Cloud environments• Participates in troubleshooting sessions including working with business teams, analyzing logs and data, opening service requests with CSPs, working with Vendors, Partners, and CSP Support, and driving problem resolution• Reviews architectural designs for applications to ensure reliable and performant design patterns are implemented• Assesses the Production readiness of new Cloud-native services and define operational characteristics and maintainability in respect to the current standards and industry/CSP best practices• Defines and tracks operational metrics for Production performance, reliability, scalability and availability dimensions• Contributes to the team's continuous improvement through research, creation of knowledge articles, and participating in discussion groups• Continuously works to improve the quality and cost optimize of Cloud environments• Continuously learning and sharing knowledge with team members and project teams• Performs other duties as required

Education and Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field• 10 + years in platform engineering, support or related field• Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud service such as Azure/AWS/GCP• Experience with multiple programming/scripting languages, Windows and Linux Operating systems, networking, systems and data design and agile methodologies• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred knowledge and skills• Certification in AWS or Azure or GCP• Cloud Architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)• Programming/scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, JavaScript)• Configuration Management software experience (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack)• Infrastructure-as-Code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloudbees,CDK)• Familiarity with running and scaling distributed software systems (load balancing, high availability, systems monitoring, etc.)• Familiarity with structured text (JSON, YAML, XML)• Proven application production support experience• Should be able to lead and work independently with cross team cloud platform engineers

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Passion for automating routine tasks• Solid understanding of networking and network-related structures• Willingness to be a part of a culture of continuous improvement• Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems internals and administration• Ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities• Ability and willingness to work off-hours on occasion• 5+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry is desired
