Your Role and Responsibilities
The Product Led Growth team is highly skilled and dedicated cross functional team with the mission to improve performance for a small subset of IBM’s products. As a Lead Product Data Scientist within Product Led Growth you will work on the cross functional demand team for a specific product/s and work closely with business stakeholders product managers and sellers. You will be responsible for querying IBM databases to pull together various data sets providing data driven recommendations using analytical insights and helping set the strategy to achieve the growth KPIs for your product. As well on top of being a part of PLG cross functional team you will oversee of 2-4 senior product data analyst managing their day-to-day work providing guidance and coaching on analytics skill sets and helping remove blockers.
You will get exposure to all aspects of marketing and demand from early-stage audience targeting via paid media investment to capturing demand through our web presence to response to lead management and sales analytics.
In this role you will have the opportunity to focus on synthesizing and applying analytic insights during the execution phase to improve performance for a specific product as well as guiding and mentor data analyst on the team. Your responsibilities will include but aren’t limited to:
• Querying data from various data sources using SQL/Python to create usable data tables for analysis
• Perform quantitative analyses to evaluate the impact of marketing activities on-demand generation including pipeline revenue content engagement media spend optimization routing channel performance lead conversion pipeline yield and ROI and other key strategic levers
•Establish objectives and measure performance to detect performance shifts and increase marketing effectiveness
• Develop and present data-driven optimization recommendations via dashboards reports and ad hoc analyses
• Manage the day to day work of 2-4 senior product analyst giving guidance and coaching on their analytics skill set
• Finding ways to standardize and scale the analytics work across the analyst you are guiding
• Communicate insights to team members other marketing groups and IBM leadership
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 4+ years relevant work experience including experience in a data-driven technology business or company with a sophisticated data stack
• Technically skilled to work with complex datasets using SQL/R/Python or other query tools to process and analyze data
• Experience with Cognos / Tableau / Dundas or other data visualization tools to facilitate flexible analysis of business performance and associated root causes
• Deep critical thinking skills and curiosity to pursue open-ended problems via data
• Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate complicated analyses to non-technical employees and leadership
• Business acumen with the ability to develop data-driven business recommendations
• Experience with leading and guiding analyst and overseeing an analytics team
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
