Aspirion helps hospitals and other healthcare providers get claims paid correctly by insurance companies, enabling providers to dedicate more resources to patient care and lowering the financial burden on patients. As a tech-enabled services business, Aspirion is investing heavily in both our internal workflow tool and client-facing insights platform to deliver an unmatched client experience to the market.
What Do We Need?
We are building our new Product and Design teams to apply best-in-class product management and design practices to our product portfolio. As our Lead Product Designer reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you would be responsible for evolving our Design function from a single designer to a team capable of supporting both our internal and external products. This would include managing our design team as it grows, establishing a design system, and directly contributing design work to our product development process. As the design team grows, we expect this role to evolve from a hybrid IC/management role into a full leadership role.
What Will You Provide?
- Manage and provide leadership to a small team of designers, including assigning tasks, setting goals, and providing feedback to foster their growth and development
- Actively contribute to the design process as an individual contributor, working on high-impact solutions and delivering exceptional designs
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to understand solution requirements an translate them into intuitive and useful designs that create user value
- Lead the end-to-end design process, including conducting user research, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts
- Develop and maintain Aspirion's design system, guidelines, patterns, and best practices to ensure consistency and a seamless user experience across our product portfolio
- Act as a subject matter expert in design-related discussions, presenting and articulating design decisions to stakeholders and advocating for user-centered design principles
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to continuously improve our design capabilities and processes
Requirements
Professional Competencies
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, including Figma Adobe Creative Suite, etc
- Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design in both business workflow and data visualization contexts
- Ability to effectively manage mid-level and senior designer
- Ability to establish a design system in an environment with an existing product
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present design concepts to stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative and elegant designer solutions
- Ability to balance managing a team and contributing as an individual contributor effectively
- Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects related to business-centric products
- +7 years of experience as a Product Designer
- +2 years of experience managing or mentoring other designers
- Bachelor's Degree
