Lead Product Manager
Job Description
SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Lead Product Manager to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate leadership through engagement with customers, field staff, and development to influence strategic revenue objectives and the go-to-market strategy.
- Maintain a deep and broad knowledge of the product portfolio, providing direction to more junior teammates.
- Exercise business acumen to implement models and procedures that impact business growth.
- Drive product strategy, planning, marketing as well as sales support activities for ANSYS products.
- Focus on go-to-market activities aimed at helping to achieve strategic revenue objectives.
- Work closely with customers and channel partners to evaluate and prioritize product changes and enhancements.
- Provide research and insights into ongoing market trends/needs and articulate the findings in the form of product requirements.
- Play a proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace.
- Work closely with Development teams to create realistic development plans and schedules.
- Create written product specifications and requirements.
- Work closely with technical ANSYS Customer Excellence teams to gain product feedback and assess competitive threats.
- Maintain close relationships with customers to remain aware of their needs and perspectives.
- Evaluate and prioritize requests for product changes and enhancements.
- Participate in producing technical white papers, application notes, product positioning presentations, and webinars as part of the go-to-market strategy.
- Engage and facilitate solutions in any Pre-Sales situations as appropriate.
- Function as a specialist/expert during customer visits and technical events.
- Provide quality assurance testing and feedback on new product features and design flows.
- Provide training to Customer Excellence and Account Teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, and five (5) years of experience in a related position.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- experience in the product management of Cloud-based product offers, including defining product requirements and capabilities;
- experience in the product management of technical products for engineering simulation, including experience performing comprehensive market research and analysis relating to products, capabilities and competition, as well as general business environment, business models, and product to identify new opportunities for technical solutions;
- experience composing summary reports as briefing materials for non-technical management in support of technical product proposals;
- experience writing product strategy documents, requirements and end-user descriptions for targeted technical product solutions;
- experience developing rolling 12-month product roadmaps;
- experience managing and prioritizing projects that span two (2) or more development/implementation teams and multiple disciplines of physics; and
- experience conducting product requirement discovery meetings and technical presentations with customers.
