The Role

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

Ā 

The Lead Program Manager (full-time, salaried, regular) is a dynamic PMO professional who will be responsible for leading high-impact company growth initiatives, including Tier-One, Tentpole and Experiential projects, as assigned.Ā  Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Own the planning and execution of assigned programs, projects, and campaigns; from kick-off, planning, execution, to launch/delivery, monitoring and reporting. May also be expected to develop decks and creative briefs, manage creative development and delivery.Ā  Produce meeting agendas, project plans, executive summaries, collect/provideĀ  tracking, reporting, & analysis.
  • Partner with internal teams and agencies/advertisers/vendors as needed to produce/review operational and financial materials, marketing materials or advertising creative including cost analysis, media plans, insertion orders, marketing plans, presentations, trailers, video assets, digital and social ads, content marketing pieces, and event activations.
  • Manage project communications between all departments, which could include but not limited to: Marketing, Production, Product & Tech, Editorial, Sales, Events, Ad Ops, Operations, Finance, Legal, HR/P&C, etc. Participates and conducts weekly team meetings, maintains and organizes centralized documentation, emails, team chat channels, etc. Communicate directly with individual team members to reiterate the scheduled deliverables, record progress of the project, and to address obstacles as they arise & maximize communication.
  • Provides monthly budget and forecasting overview by working closely with the core team members who will report on their individual budgets to ensure overall initiative is delivered within scope. Consolidates invoices and summarizes cost analysis at close of project. Creates and reviews partnership/advertiser agreements and statements of work for relevant projects. Creates weekly/monthly team status reports.Ā 
  • Oversee the project timeline to ensure Leadership actively takes timely action.Ā 

Team Leadership Responsibility:

  • At this time, this position will not include supervising employees. However, the team lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Provide consistent training, support, and mentorship to the Content program management team
    • Effective, fair, and consistent input for performance management and evaluation
    • Fairly and consistently ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Media, or Communications)
  • 10 plus years of experience in project management, marketing for digital products and services, or apps ideally for an automotive and/or entertainment brand

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Process orientation: Very process driven with a general understanding of hybrid project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall frameworks and best practices.
  • Agility: Flexible change agent, quick learner, and able to continuously drive improvement.
  • Communication: Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple layers of management, keeping stakeholders well-informed on a regular cadence; effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Business results orientation: Proactive, high attention to detail, efficient, well organized and possesses the ability to identify risks and drive associated solutions.
  • Teamwork and Relationship Management: Team player and servant leader, builds and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Prioritization: Effectively prioritizes tasks, requires minimal supervision and escalates or seeks advice when problems surface in order to accomplish overall goals.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time and view computer screen(s).

Ā Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilate
  • If remote, candidate is responsible for basic office equipment and internet access.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in California. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of MotorTrend's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $129,500.00 - $240,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, MotorTrend provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
