About the Business Operations Program Management Team

About the Role
As a Lead Program Manager on the Business Operations Program Management team, you will report to the Chief of Staff and partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Leadership team on high-visibility projects across the Finance function and company-wide cross functional efforts.Â
We are looking for a proactive self-starter with deep expertise in financial project management and the ability to collaborate across various levels and functions. Our ideal candidate is curious and hungry to continuously learn more, fosters inclusivity through their humility, balances detail-orientation with big picture thinking, and builds relationships and connections through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
You will play an integral role in managing high-visibility projects and programs across the Finance function and company-wide. Your responsibilities may include:
- Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Leadership team to ideate on and execute against the long-term strategic direction and roadmap of the Finance functionÂ
- Manage complex programs from inception to implementation to stabilization, including corporate planning activities such as annual budgeting and the strategic planning process, to ensure flawless execution and alignment with organizational goalsÂ
- Anticipate and prioritize stakeholder needs and proactively get ahead of roadblocks by coming to the table with a solutions-first mindset and creative problem solving approachÂ
- Develop and maintain process documentation and project management resources for the Finance function and growing Thumbtack program management community
What you'll needÂ

- Educational Background & Professional Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 8-10+ years of experience in fast-paced organizations, with a preference for candidates who have experience in technology marketplace organizations within a Finance department
- Project Management: Proven expertise in direct project management or related roles
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, coupled with a detailed orientation
- Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, the ability to be direct while simultaneously building a narrative, and prioritizing Thumbtack’s values of Say What You Mean and Lead With Why through your communications Â
- Interpersonal Skills: Including the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, build relationships with executives, and work in a dynamic team environment
- Stakeholder Management: Proactive stakeholder management with an ability to stay several steps ahead on any project. Ability to guide and align stakeholders toward desired outcomes
- Adaptability: The capability to stay curious and thrive in ambiguous environments, prioritize effectively, work independently as a self-starter, and manage a high-volume workload efficiently
Bonus points if you have
- Educational Background: Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, organizational development or similarÂ
- Professional Experience: Financial or management consulting background, project management certification

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $162,000- $198,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $137,700 - $168,300 . Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
