ABOUT NYSHEX

NYSHEX is a well-funded, series A start-up that is transforming the centuries old shipping industry by solving its problems of inefficiency, unpredictability, and volatility and looking to capture $23 billion of economic waste annually.   


ABOUT THE ROLE: 

As the Lead Project Manager at NYSHEX, you will spearhead major integration projects for our most critical members, including top ocean carriers, shippers, and NVOs. You will run point on all fronts: leading planning, execution and delivery, and a smooth transition to steady state operations.  A positive member experience is paramount, and you will directly help shape their continued success with NYSHEX. 

You will also help establish a NYSHEX methodology for Project Management and develop NYSHEX’s Project Management Team into a world-class center of excellence that creates standards and best practices and provides focus and clarity for all NYSHEX. 

This is a full-time, remote or hybrid role reporting to our VP of Project Management and Special Projects. While we are currently operating remotely, NYSHEX will be implementing a hybrid working model in the future - nearly all NYSHEX staff globally will work from a NYSHEX office two days per week. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

In this role, you will: 

  • Own “Go-Live” success for all major integration projects with NYSHEX members
  • Clearly define success – from project plans and delivery timelines to establishing key communications and ways of working between internal and external stakeholders
  • Build the project plan, set direction, and lead the execution and integration launch
  • Work cross-functionally with Account Management, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure internal alignment and successful Member integration
  • Spot blockers and challenges and work with key internal and external stakeholders to solve each
  • Lead the transition from integration to a “steady-state” operating model, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure continued Member success on NYSHEX’s platform
  • Use project management tools and platforms to create visibility and transparency into the state and progress of each project, briefing both senior internal and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Translate successes, challenges, and learnings into actionable and adaptable playbooks to continually improve project efficiency and organizational readiness 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

You are a great candidate for this role if you have:  

  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B role focused on external or internal client success or project management within the Technology space (i.e. Strategy, Operations, Consulting, SaaS Implementation, etc.) 
  • An ownership mindset and experience owning multi-faceted project plans with many internal and external stakeholders – successfully delivering all requirements on-time and within budget 
  • An understanding of how to lead and motivate stakeholders who do not report to you, driving action and accountability   
  • A strong grasp of building and maintaining financial models: revenue-cost analyses and ROI-modelling  
  • Executive presence and presentation skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust with internal and external senior leaders 
  • The ability to take initiative, adapt, and make decisions: identify roadblocks, solutions, and pivot quickly when necessary 

You are an exceptional candidate if you also have: 

  • Experience working in the global Logistics or Logistics Technology space 
  • Advanced Education or Training in Project Management (i.e. MBA, PMP, Six-Sigma, etc.) 


NYC Salary Disclosure 
In accordance with New York City Local Law 32, the expected salary for this role is between $110,000 and $130,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package. This role may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or stock options as well. The bottom of our salary range represents the minimum for a candidate who meets the qualifications for the role. All offers to candidates will ultimately be based on that candidate's individual experience and skillset, and not every candidate will qualify for the top end of the salary range.
