Lead QA Engineer

Job Description

Copart is looking for full stack Lead/Sr. QA engineer who will think about the many different aspects of product quality, such as functionality, usability, performance. She or he will be familiar with test automation strategies and technologies. She or he has a rich mix of domain knowledge, technical skills and testing expertise, all from a user-oriented perspective.

What you will Do:

• Support the delivery of cutting-edge products; from concept to implementation; that cater to Copart's growing digital footprint
• Consistently communicate with the scrum team to clarify application requirements and technical documentation
• Work with developers and QA team members to resolve outstanding defects
• Occasionally participate in after-hours and off-peak outage windows to provide certification and testing support
• Support ongoing work to automate and document QA regression testing
• Mentor colleagues in automation and testing best practices

Requirements

Required skills experience:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of relevant Software QA experience
• Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
• Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
• Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
• System software testing; Planning and coordinating test activities
• Overseeing test case development and defect resolutions
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and excellent analytical skills
• Independent decision-making and good judgment
• Strong time management, interpersonal and people skills
• Ability to operated comfortably in a multi-task / multi priority environment across a global team
• Knowledge of Application Development Lifecycle and concepts
• Use of 1 or more development languages (e.g. Java/JQuery, Javascript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Groovy, VBScript, SQL, etc)
• Exposure to web technologies (e.g. HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, etc)
• Exposure to development or test automation tools/frameworks (e.g. Cucumber/Gherkin, Cypress/Playwright, Selenium, Junit, SOAP-UI, Jenkins, Maven, Visual Studio, JIRA, etc)
• Experience in using Open Source load testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience in testing RESTful or SOAP web services.
• Exposure to platforms/OS/Servers (e.g. Windows Server, Linux/Unix, J2EE, IIS, Apache, Tomcat, etc)
• Knowledge of modern source code control systems such as git and gitflow release management processes
