Job Description

Cie is a Venture Studio specializing in accelerating innovation for large enterprises and growth for emerging startups. We invest as a partner from ideation to completion.

Work alongside our battle-tested executive team that has been part of ninety-one startups and fifteen exits in the past ten years. Cie is an expert at successfully launching ideas to market while navigating uncertain economic conditions.

Our team works on a diverse range of software projects across different industries. Each project allows you to broaden your skillset and deepen your expertise. From cutting-edge technologies to tried-and-true solutions, you'll get to work with a variety of tech stacks and tackle new problems.
How you'll make an impact:
  • Lead the team in developing and implementing software testing strategies, processes, and procedures.
  • Plan and execute end-to-end testing activities ranging from functional, regression, load, and security testing across a variety of applications and systems.
  • Work closely with development and project management teams to ensure that we always ship high-quality releases.
  • Actively create and maintain testing metrics and reports to track the quality of releases.
  • Apply logical reasoning and leverage tools such as Postman and Charles/Fiddler to perform in-depth root cause analysis and determine the source of a defect.
  • Ensure that software defects include all the necessary details that are relevant to the developer.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility across both desktop and mobile browsers as well as perform cross-platform testing on iOS and Android.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive test cases and documentation across projects.
  • Find the balance between automation vs manual testing, taking into account project constraints, timelines, and budgets.
  • Write automation for web applications, native mobile apps, and backend systems.
  • Provide product feedback. We want to hear what you say about product usability and improvement recommendations for overall quality.
  • Work with our internal team to ensure clear, concise communication is being maintained between development, production, and operations teams.
What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Passion for the discipline. You’ll always share knowledge and apply what you learn to strengthen the team.
  • Awareness of the big-picture. You’re always aware of the boarder business objectives and consider them when making recommendations or decisions.
  • A customer-centric mindset. You look from the customer's perspective to drive toward the best possible product.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical. We’ll count on you to point out bugs, inconsistencies, and areas of poor user experience.
  • Calm under pressure. You’ll need to close out multiple tasks while working with tight deadlines.
  • Programming experience. You have familiarity with test automation frameworks and approaches (C#, Java, or JavaScript are preferred).
  • Ability to write comprehensive, precise documentation, test cases, and bug tickets.
  • Ability to be flexible and work across multiple projects at a moment’s notice.
  • Bonus points if you are familiar with utilizing automated testing tools such as Selenium, RestAssured with Java, and Appium or Visual Studio App Center.
Beyond the paycheck:
  • Compensation: competitive salary + startup share units + profit share units
  • Opportunity: the right candidate will have the chance to work in a high-energy/high-impact environment with ample opportunity for growth and development in their career
  • Benefits: a full suite of benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and paid time off
  • Remote: work from the comfort of your own home or choose to visit our HQ located in Irvine, California
$100,000/year to $120,000/year
