As a Barclays Lead Rapid Application Developer, you will be managing the workbook of a team of dedicated engineers in New York. You will be accountable for the timely delivery of risk reports to the Trading desk, Market Risk and Product Control groups as well as ensuring key pricing applications are available to Business users. This is an opportunity to engage with Business teams to gather requirements for new functionality and prioritize work for the team and to be responsible for presenting the teams work to senior Business stakeholders.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $155,000

Salary / Rate Maximum: $225,000

What will you be doing?• Managing a team of developers in New York up to five employees• Making technical decisions that require a deep understanding of the problem domain, specifically improving and designing new solutions around risk generation• Developing modern solutions to remediate legacy usage of Excel based tools• Developing high quality maintainable code, in a variety of languages; including C#, python, SQL and an in house Barclays functional language FMD• Collaborating and communicating with other developers and stakeholders across 3 regions, AMER EMEA and APAC. Working closely with other RAD leads in EMEA• Developing methods, tools and standards and keeping this knowledge current (i.e. desire to learn)• Adhering to Policies & Standards appropriate to the role - outlined in the Code of Conduct and mandatory training• Investigating and having resolution of Production issues

What we're looking for:• Proven team leadership record, managing highly productive development teams• Experience with software architecture in a variety of business domains• Experience with a variety of programming language stacks, both object orientated and functional• Experience of working within a Front Office facing role, directly supporting Business users

Skills that will help you in the role:• Experience of working with distributed systems• Experience building systems in trading, banking and / or financial organizations• Experience of developing complex Excel based applications

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
