Lead Security Engineer

What you'll do

We have a exciting opportunity for a Lead Security Engineer to join our Network Engineering Team based in NY! (Candidates may also reside in either, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont or contiguous states)

As Lead Security Engineer you will design, build and operate security monitoring equipment for detection, protection and response solutions (Firewalls, Load balancers, Secure web gateways, IPS, Web application firewalls, NDR etc).
You will work closely with National Grid's internal and external partners and lead the technical low level design. Working with peer teams across National Grid you will update security policies, standards, guidelines etc you will also maintain knowledge of network security trends, to identify and suggest automation and integration into current processes and procedures.

What you'll need

• SME level experience of leading network security projects
• SME level experience of deploying and managing network security technologies
• Experience of deploying and managing network infrastructure (firewalls, load balancer, Web application firewalls, Secure web gateways, SASE etc)
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a variety of different stakeholders
• Certification desired (not essential) :- CCIE, NSE8, F5 401, CISSP, PCNSE

Salary

UNY: $120,000 to $165,000 a year
NE: $133,000 to $175,000 a year
DNY: $143,000 to $195,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ('DOT') covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).
