Lead Software Engineer

We currently have a direct hire full time remote opportunity available for a Lead Software Engineer. As a Lead Engineer, you will need to produce and implement functional software solutions. You will work with senior management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. In this role, you should be able to work with minimal supervision. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with customer needs and business goals. Responsibilities will include designing, overseeing, and participating in the implementation of technology solutions. In this role, you will need to ensure that software deliverables comply with quality and security standards and are completed on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with senior management to prioritize and design scalable software solutions
• Lead system design sessions for new modules and functionality
• Collaborate with product management on backlog refinement leading the technical discussion
• Lead an offshore development team
• Champion the use of agile development best-practices
• Perform review and analysis of code for quality, stability, and security
• Produce technical documentation for projects including flowcharts, architecture diagrams, and relational diagrams.
• Remain current on new technologies and make recommendations as necessary
• Participate in task planning, estimation, and scheduling
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers
• Work closely with cross-functional groups including product management, user experience, and support

 Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 8 years’ experience as a software engineer
• Fluent with functional and object-oriented languages such as PHP, Python, and Node.js
• Experienced working in an agile environment
• Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with cloud computing environments such as AWS
• Experience with agile management and documentation software such as Jira/Confluence
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
