Lead Software Engineer

What's the role?

• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of building software solutions, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of advanced tools and systems for automated and semi-automated map data processing
• Drive technical decisions to improve engineering practices and operational excellence by leveraging Agile methodologies
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders to solve complex problems
• Develop and execute automated tests to identify issues in critical functionalities and performance metrics proactively
• Implement automated alerts and remediation for common errors, reducing the time required for manual intervention and increasing system uptime
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence within the team

Who are you?

• Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Geoinformatics or related fields
• 7+ years of software development experience
• Excellent applied Java and/or Scala skills
• Strong DBMS & SQL skills, with a strong preference on PostgreSQL / PostGIS
• Validated experience with big data processing frameworks like Spark, Flink, Kafka
  Strong and applied AWS skills (EC2, S3, RDS,), as well as experience with virtualization like Docker
• Proven experience in Web Service technologies (SOA, REST, JSON, XML are familiar)
• Strong experience CI/CD tools, with a preference on Jenkins
• Good knowledge of using issue tracking tools (e.g. JIRA), code collaboration tools (e.g. Git/GitLab) and team collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence/Wiki)
