Lead Software Engineer- Custody Applications

We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Lead Software Engineer, with good knowledge of financial industry and understanding of Custody applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be comfortable with multitasking, have communication and leadership talent and be a good team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies and establishes strategic long-term technology goals, policies and procedures based on business objectives and budget requirements.

• Evaluates and makes recommendation on techniques, practices, or technologies that would enhance business needs and ensure continuous process improvements.
• Communicates with stakeholders - internal teams, vendors, and partners in the business unit - about ways to enhance current practices, maintain systems availability and service level agreements; proposes and leads solution and improvement efforts.
• Conducts feasibility studies; defines and designs system requirements for complex data processing projects.
• Provides input into strategic planning and long-range direction for technology in the business unit.
• Leads the continuous improvement of quality assurance practices, tools and methodologies.
• Acts as a project lead for large/complex projects at all phases of the project lifecycle providing guidance and mentoring to other team members as needed to ensure project success.
• Develops and maintains documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Serves as an expert on applications and provides technical support.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Software design and architecture
• Relational database (Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2)
• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework and C#
• Experience with Mainframe (COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, Control-M, and SCLM)
• Familiarity with microservices, Junit, JVM Internals, API, and Spring Boot framework
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD tools
• Experience with both traditional Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience on Building SOA applications
• Communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven problem solving and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Fast learner
• Experience with Custody or Entitlements applications is a plus
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 5 to 7 years of IT experience in the financial industry
