We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who is passionate about automation and can help us with our production deployment tools (reduce deployment errors, increase repeatability, champion/maintain/introduce automation tools). Who believes that a fully automated system is the only way to support the development team in productivity and protect the customer experience from any unfavorable incidence. Who shares the “if you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it” mindset. 

You will be joining a collaborative team of like-minded people who thrive on technical problem solving and relish design challenges. Genesys Engineers think through implementation details of scale, security and usability.

You will be part of a team building and optimizing cloud infrastructure, mentoring software developers, ensuring scalability and availability of infrastructure and delivering high quality optimized solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to building an entire continuous deployment pipeline for development teams, including automated provisioning of the testing and production environments.
• Participate with architectural decisions that impact the software infrastructure and architectre
• Responsible for driving a key technical product area through complex judgment and technical capabilities
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Maintaining and monitoring large distributed and highly-available complex systems
• Mentoring and guiding your team members 

Who you are

• You have at least 7 years of work experience as a DevOps engineer
• Infrastructure as Code mindset, can work in a shared-responsibility model
• Strong AWS background (Azure is an advantage), but open-minded and willing to learn new cloud-based technologies
• Experience in incidence management and root cause analysis
• You can gather business requirements, analyze complex problems and develop solutions that meet business needs
• You can communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Mentors other team members, and other teams, on good practices
• Shows ownership at the product level and drives progress and improvement
• Resists poor or short-term solutions backing up arguments with solid and logical data
• Can debug complex problems in dev/test and in production
• Suggests ways to simplify to make us more efficient in our designs and tools
• Thinks about the bigger picture and connects with engineers from other teams to discuss overall solutions

Desirable Skills:

We expect you to have experience with some of the following technologies and are willing to learn the rest:

• Experience with high-performance, 7/24 systems
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, AWS/Azure cloud technologies
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies and principles
• Apply DevOps culture and mindset to your daily work
