Lead Software Engineer - Java Backend

As a Backend Lead Software Engineer in Asset & Wealth Management within INVESTMENTS - GPB TECH DOMESTIC, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Back-end design development for business platforms
• Lead with best practices and Agile framework, like Scrum
• Collaborate with other team members in an Agile environment interacting with business owners and other technology teams
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications
• Lead the development of new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging and changing business and project requirements
• Mentor and onboard junior members of the team
• Support application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Expert in object-oriented analysis and design techniques and Rest APIs
• Hands-on experience in leading product delivery from beginning to end
• Hands-on experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL or other Database technologies including query optimization
• Hands-on experience creating micro services using spring boot or spring framework

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Preferred experience working with REACT/Redux/Javascript
• Preferred experience with Agile framework
• Ideal candidate has a passion for business products and influencing the business tech space with innovative ideas and creative thinking
