Lead Software Engineer, PORT

The Role 

We are seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist to join us and lead a subset of our Portfolio Management Technology Team. The Portfolio Management team at Schonfeld is tasked with creating a platform that serves as the golden data source for post trade operational data - near real-time positions, start-of-day position, end-of-day position, trades, executions and P&L. You will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to improve our current products and applications as well as add to our offerings.

What you’ll do 

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for some of the many initiatives currently being embarked upon in the Portfolio Management team. You will work alongside the Portfolio Management Product Manager as well as the other Portfolio Management Leads to set the strategic direction and vision for our systems. As the Lead, you will be tasked with setting the technical direction for the team improving their overall productivity as well as supporting various ad-hoc stakeholder requests. You will evaluate our current technology environment – identify gaps, vulnerabilities and potential enhancements then design, architect and build new proprietary analytical and data systems.

What you need:

• Expertise in successfully designing, building and implementing real time Front Office or Back Office applications
• Experience leading small, highly technical development teams
• Proficiency in Java, AWS and messaging
• Strong architectural experience
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong executive presence – experience interacting with C-Suite and business stakeholders

• Experience within buy side financial firms

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $150,000 and $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
