Job summary
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise
As an Infrastructure Lead you will guide and mentor a team with meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to large scale operational problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation in our vCF environments. You will join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment you will take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As a technical lead you will be focused on running better production applications and systems.
You will join the Global ESX Infrastructure Support team and leverage your knowledge of infrastructure, automation and programming to affect change.
Job responsibilities
  • Strong team lead and mentoring experience
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
  • Must be able to multitask and delegate work to completion without micromanaging
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with multiple teams, and both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments
  • Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands
  • Modern compute technologies (e.g., virtualization, cloud)
  • Familiar with Agile development process and automated testing
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience as a VMware ESXi system engineer in an Enterprise class environment with vSAN, NSX and vCF 4.4+
  • Strong background with VMware suite (vSphere 6.5 and up)
  • Prior experience in both Systems Engineering and Software Development
  • Experience working in teams following Agile methodologies
  • Experience in software development in one or more of the programming languages (JavaScript, Java, Python, PowerShell, PowerCLi)
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skill
  • Experience with VMware NSX-T a strong plus
